For families and households

A weekly meal planner that builds your grocery list

We build a small meal planner for your household. Pick meals for the week, and it combines the ingredients into one grocery list you can check off at the store or email to yourself.

The problem

Planning dinners is one job and writing the grocery list is another, and the two rarely line up. Ingredients get copied by hand, duplicates pile up (three recipes, three onions), and something always gets forgotten. Generic meal apps can feel built for someone else, with paywalls, ads, or recipes you will never cook. You want your own meals, your own staples, and a list that appears without retyping.

What we’d build

  • A week view where you assign meals to each day and save the plan.
  • A recipe library of your own meals, with ingredients and quantities.
  • An auto-built grocery list that merges duplicate items and lets you check things off.
  • A staples list so items you always have at home stay off the list.
  • One integration: email the finished grocery list to yourself or a partner.

A concrete example

A family of four wants dinners planned Sunday night. We build four screens: a week view, a recipe library, a grocery list, and a staples list. They enter about 15 regular recipes with ingredients. Each week they drop recipes onto days, and the grocery list combines quantities across meals (two recipes that need onions become one line). Staples like salt and olive oil are skipped. A button emails the list to both parents. Access is through a private link with no logins, and the plan and recipes are saved so they are there next week. We then apply two rounds of tweaks, such as regrouping the list by store section.

Frequently asked

Can my partner and I both use it?

Yes. You share the same private link and see the same saved plan and list. This tier has no individual accounts or logins. If you want separate user profiles, that moves into our Mini-app tier.

Can it import recipes from websites?

Not as part of this scope. You enter recipes yourself, which keeps the build small and dependable. If you have a spreadsheet of recipes, tell us before we start and we will say whether we can load it in.

What does it cost, and what about hosting and refunds?

The Tool tier is $749, delivered in 5 business days with two rounds of tweaks and full source code. Hosting is included for 12 months, then $9.00 per month, or you can self-host. We refund in full if we decline before work starts, but not after delivery.
