For families and friend groups planning trips

A shared trip planner with an itinerary and a running tab

We build a small trip planner your group opens from one shared link. It holds the itinerary, tracks who paid for what, and shows who owes whom. No accounts and no app to install.

The problem

Group trips end up scattered across a group chat, a notes app, and someone's memory of who covered the rental car. Plans change, and nobody is sure which version of the schedule is current. At the end, one person does the math on receipts to work out who owes what, and it often leads to awkward back-and-forth.

What we’d build

  • An itinerary screen where anyone with the link can add, edit, and reorder days and activities, with times, places, and notes.
  • An expense screen to log what was spent, who paid, and who it was split between (evenly or by custom amounts).
  • A balances screen that shows each person's net total and the fewest payments needed to settle up.
  • A people list for the trip, so expenses and plans are tied to names.
  • One integration of your choice: a Google Sheets export of expenses, or an emailed summary at the end.

A concrete example

Six friends are renting a cabin for a long weekend. One person creates the trip and shares the link in the group chat. The itinerary has a day-by-day list: Friday arrival, Saturday hike, Sunday checkout. Anyone can add a dinner reservation or a note about parking. Groceries, gas, and the cabin deposit go into the expense screen with who paid and who shares each cost. The balances screen shows that two people owe the person who paid for the cabin, and for how much. At the end, the group exports the expenses to Google Sheets. It tracks IOUs only and does not move money.

Frequently asked

Do my friends need to make accounts?

No. Anyone with the link can view and edit the trip. That keeps it easy, but it means the link should be shared only with people you trust. Logins and roles are part of our larger Mini-app tier, not this one.

Can it collect payments between friends?

No. It calculates who owes whom and shows the amounts. People still settle up with whatever they already use, like cash or a payment app. We don't store card numbers or handle payments for this kind of build.

What does it cost and what happens after delivery?

The Tool tier is $749, delivered in 5 business days, with two rounds of tweaks. You get a hosted link and the full source code. Hosting is included for 12 months, then $9.00 per month or you can self-host. Refunds apply only if we decline before work starts.
