Self-host your applet

Your applet is yours. The code is MIT-licensed and you can move it anywhere you like, any time. Hosting stays included for 12 monthsregardless, so there's no rush.

What you receive

  • A Next.js (App Router) project in your own GitHub repo.
  • A production README.md with runbook, env list, and the same deploy steps you see below.
  • An npm run export script that writes every row we stored on your behalf (leads, orders, uploads) to a JSON file.
  • Any brand assets you uploaded in the project kit.

Deploy on Vercel

  1. Push the repo to GitHub (we already added you as owner).
  2. In Vercel, create a new project from that repo. Framework preset: Next.js, Node 24, default build command.
  3. Add the env vars listed below to Production, Preview, and Development.
  4. Deploy. Vercel will give you a *.vercel.app URL immediately.

Deploy on a generic Node host

  1. Any host that runs Node 20+ works: Fly.io, Railway, Render, Hetzner, a VPS, etc.
  2. Install dependencies and build: npm ci && npm run build.
  3. Run npm start. Point your reverse proxy or load balancer at the Node process on the port you set with the PORT env var (default 3000).
  4. Run migrations once per deploy with npx prisma migrate deploy.

Environment variables

The README.md we hand you lists every env var your applet reads. The usual ones are:

  • DATABASE_URL, DATABASE_URL_UNPOOLED: your Postgres (Neon, Supabase, RDS, local).
  • APP_URL: the public base URL of the deployment.
  • RESEND_API_KEY, RESEND_FROM: outbound email, optional.
  • Any third-party keys the applet actually uses (Stripe, OpenAI, etc). We only include ones the build needs.

Custom domain

  1. In Vercel's domain settings (or your proxy), add your domain to the project.
  2. Create the DNS records Vercel asks for: an A record for the apex, a CNAME for www, then wait for SSL to provision (usually under a minute).
  3. Update APP_URL to your new domain and redeploy.

Data export

Run npm run export locally against your production database. The script writes a single export.json with every row we stored for you. Keep a backup before any migration or move.

Hosting stays included

Even if you plan to self-host eventually, hosting on our side stays included for the full 12 monthsafter delivery. There's no penalty for migrating early and no clawback if you don't migrate at all.
